It’s times like these that I particularly wish I was back in Peru, in the Andes, touching the skies. Living, breathing, suffering with the world and communing with the mountains which grant me passage. Even the memories of hypoxia, hunger, cold, wet, fatigue, illness, thirst and all other sufferings of a mountaineer seem small compared to seeing and feeling the warmth of the sun as it crests over the nearest ridge, as if to tell you: “Yes, you are alive”.
